#oneaday 11 – Wycinanki

11 Jan

This week I came across Wycinanki for the first time. For those of you coming across it for the first time today, it’s the art of Polish paper cuts and it has some absolutely beautiful results.

I also discovered that there’s an exhibition featuring lots of Wycinanki at Cartwright Hall in Bradford. I’d like to go, so if anyone fancies a road trip, give me a shout.

You can see lots more examples of Wycinanki by clicking here.

I think one of the reasons that I love it so much is because it feels very evocative of a lot of Rob Ryan’s stuff. This is a Good Thing.

Rob Ryan your story has no beginning and no end

Right, time to get back to watching Youth in Revolt.

That’s really cool! Learn something new every day, huh?

Indeed! I think I might dedicate one of the months in #oneaday this year to learning one new thing every day.
